use of my images

I have found a lot of my images from this blog floating around on the internet between Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, Blogger and Pinterest. I haven't joined Instagram, so I don't know whether they are on there too. But the one thing I ask if you do a save-screen is to leave my copyright in the image because the images can be taken out of context if they do not go with the writing.

Below, I tell you what you can do and not do with my images.

The point of my images is to illustrate my writings.

If I see the image and people are asking questions as to why "this or that" is not part of the image, I can explain. But I have a feeling that I miss most posts just because I am not on the internet that much and because I suspect there are more people sharing my image than I know about.

Not attributing work to an artist is very much about stealing.

I have been stolen from a lot in my life, and to see my hard work up on the internet with no attribution from fellow survivors of abuse is not a good feeling for me. Please, please, please respect the artists.

HERE ARE SOME GROUND RULES FOR COPYING IMAGES FROM THIS SITE

1. Ask for permission in the comment section of the post of the image you would like to share on your social media.
2. If you are a fellow survivor, you can use my images in your forums, but use the whole image, not a partial one, and give me credit (aka "artwork by Lise Winne") and list my post where you found the image so that the image won't be taken out of context.
3. Absolutely no publishing or selling of the image without my permission, and without a license.

Below is one that I caught today, but there have been many others, which is finally why I decided to speak out.

I left the comments in, but blurred the names and pictures of the survivors in photoshop. I think comments help survivors not to feel isolated (since isolation is a lot of what perpetrators try to do), and you can see that the comments are very helpful, so the comments aren't the point. The copying of the artwork without the copyright symbol is the point - this one shows my work without my copyright.

The original is from my post on the Karpman's Triangle and it looks a lot better on my site (not blurry) and the whole piece is featured with my copyright.

note that this one does not have my copyright
don't do this:

And to the Quora author, Barbara Warrum, you can use the image in the way you used it. Thanks for sharing your story too.
